WHY WE FUNDRAISE
The Prairie Fund was officially established in 2003 when state funding decreased, and Prairie parents rallied together to raise funds to retain the positions of school nurse and reading specialists in a full-time capacity. In the years since, as district funding evolves, the Prairie Fund has continued to hold annual fundraising efforts, namely the Prairie Auction to support critical community-funded positions to help preserve and enhance the quality education our kids receive at Prairie.
In the 2024-2025 school year, the Prairie Fund will once again support one full-time and one part-time interventionist (to work in conjunction with the district-funded part-time interventionist) to split time between both reading and math based on where support is needed during the year. These positions work closely with classroom teachers to customize learning approaches so all students receive the support they need.
All money raised at the auction will go directly to fund these important academic support roles at Prairie.
